I was using my blow dryer until I purchased the Heat It Craft Tool. The biggest concern I had was the blow dryer blowing my card/ATC/art away. Hanging on to it without marking it up was not easy. So here are the pros & cons. Pros: It is quiet. It doesn't blow my art work away. It drys faster. It is easier to handle. Cons: Definitely read directions before using and hold it at least two inches away and constantly check because it does get very hot. Unlike the blow dryer, it does not take long. When it says don't leave it on more than 10 minutes, they REALLY mean it. The cons are not really cons if you are careful and follow directions.
I've had this tool for a few years and enjoyed how it works. I always heat from the underside of the piece I'm embossing and because of that I can't always see how close I'm getting to the paper/cardstock. I've burned the motor out in one because it got too hot and won't do that again. I'm on Heat It #2.

Love this heat tool..looked at many on t he market but really was drawn to the ease of drying with a handled tool. Used it today and it is exactly what I wanted, as it gives great control and my hand doesn't get tired. It allows the surface to dry evenly, as well.
I wanted a heat dryer w/a handle like a regular hair dryer because I think the other straight heat dryers are just too combersom to hold. Besides, I've seen some in the stores and they are very big in size; this style is just the right size.
For years I used my heat tool for embellishing a LOT of different things. The grout in my floor can attest to this with glitter, beads and embossing powder of many colors embedded forever! This little beauty doesn't blow everything all over. PERFECT. Gets hot, but it's called a "heat" tool and it takes less time to do what I want.
I ordered this heat tool b/c it had been recommend to me. I find it does not work well with embossing powder, I think because it does not blow very hard. I do use it to dry multimedia art but would not purchase it again as I prefer one tool that can meet all my heating needs. I do like the handle, it is a comfortable way to work.
This heat tool is perfect for drying inks, etc. without buckling or warping the paper.
I bought this after my last heat tool died after years of use. I chose this one because of the handle--I wanted something more ergonomic. It is very comfortable to hold and though it takes a little longer than my last heat tool to warm up, it is powerful once it gets hot! Love that it is also quiet and doesn't blow embossing powder around.

Yayyyyy! I finally got this tool for my crafting room. I have always just used my embossing tool, but as demonstrated by many was too hot too fast. I got a great price from scrapbook.com.
My items arrived quickly and the packaging was thoughtful and considerate.
This tool is just the right size for me. It is totally light weight and it does get hot. (Watch your fingers!) This is just what I was looking for, it does the trick!
