The Tool N One crafting tool features three interchangeable attachments including the roller brush, spatula tool and the paper piercing poker tool. The roller brush is used to roll over your die removing all those intricate pieces that are so hard to remove, the spatula tool is for running along the inside of your die making it easy to remove your die cut without tearing it and the paper piercing poker tool is great for removing those pesky little pieces that just want to stay stuck in the die! We think the best feature that makes this tool handy and portable is that your attachments can be stored inside the body of the tool. Clean the machine and its accessories with a slightly damp cloth only. Do not use a cleaning product or chemical cleaners on the machine. Canned air may be used to remove dust and debris from small areas of the machine. If your handle requires lubrication, place a small drop of household dish detergent between the white and bronze parts of the handle and rotate the handle to distribute. Alternately, you can remove and immerse the handle into clean water with dish detergent. To prolong the life of the plates, use both sides and remove any scrap materials after cutting.

Q: Which machines are NOT compatible with the Glimmer Hot Foil System?
A: The Glimmer Hot Foil System is NOT compatible with the Cuttlebug, Side Kick or any other machine that cannot cut Steel Rule Dies and does not have at least a 6" long platform.
Q: Can the Glimmer Hot Foil System use the Go, Press and Foil Machine Dies?
A: Yes!
Q: Can you use any brand of heat transfer foil with the Glimmer Hot Foil System?
A: Unfortunately, no. Other popular foils like Therm o Web and Heidi Swapp will not work in this system. This machine does not use a toner to adhere the foil.
Q: Can you use any die with the Glimmer Hot Foil System?
A: Technically, you can use most metal wafer thin dies, however they may not create beautiful designs. Some do not make sense with this system as they were created to cut out shapes. If you do decide to try a new wafer-thin die, keep this in mind and add an extra cardstock shim or two, as water thin dies are slightly thinner than the Glimmer plates.
This system is so much fun to work with. It is unique and different from a foil machine, as it allows you to work with so many types of materials. I created beautifully foiled Christmas cards, but my favorite way to use the Glimmer Hot Foil machine is to emboss napkins with foil sentiments. They look like they were purchased at a fancy store! I cannot wait to work with other materials-it also works with things like leather, wood grain paper, velvet paper...make sure you own a manual die cutting machine as this is an accessory to be used with one.

I saw the 2 videos available here before I went ahead and purchased this system because I, too, have a Vagabond plus I have Minc system. I love my Minc, but the Minc foils only work on laser printed images. Glimmer foils are heat-set. I bought this system because it is much simpler and it has lovely dies for my son's wedding. Everything works as promised and I had a great deal of fun trying each and every die. I did not use a heavy cardstock because of the warning and I can see why rolling it thru my Vagabond would be too tight and cause issues with the foil. I also trimmed the foil as closely as I could. Everything worked fine for me and my foils worked perfectly! And I was very pleased that Scrapbook.com was the only store that had this system and was selling it prior to the 10/1 release date! One caveat: Although the demonstrators casually mention that they don't know if it's hot enuff to burn you, IT IS HOT ENUFF TO BURN YOU! Use the tools and you'll be fine!

I love using my Glimmer Hot Foil System. It is so easy to use and you get absolutely beautiful results. It is smaller than I thought which is good because it doesn't take up much counter space. I love that I foil from this machine then take it straight to my Sizzix machine. I was able to use other Dies with the Glimmer System (some work, some don't). You just have to play around with Dies to see which ones work. I bought the Glimmer System on sale and I'm really happy with it. It is worth buying.

you can use your thin dies to create beautiful details on your projects and the additional plates are budget friendly too! A note: The key to great transfers every time is running it through your Platinum 6 very slowly, this way it transfers evenly:)

Like the glimmer machine, it doesn't work as well as the video show it. I have tried several cards that the foil sticks on which damage the complete top layer of the card. I will say that the larger dies work wonderfully. I would recommend but not for smaller dies.

This Hot foil system is so easy to use and you get beautiful results every time. I love that you can foil a sentiment on your projects just by doing a few steps. You can even emboss using this system. Other systems only foil if it’s printed with a laser printer, which is kind of a hassle for me. But this system totally removes that step, the less steps I have to do the better. The size is perfect, I can just slide it into my Alex drawers and it’s out of the way.
Great little machine that adds a beautiful foil touch to my projects. I totally recommend it.

Love this machine, I bought a TODO earlier this summer and wasn't impressed. this glimmer and the spellbinder stamps are wonderful, they work every time one pass with my cut'n'boss, I have already made some amazing cards...I love the non-skid plate, the stamps stay where you put . Can't say enough good things about this product....Scrapbook.com was so prompt in getting my order in the mail,I will order from them again for sure!! Have a great day!!

This machine works great. The timer is a great plus . I’ve only used it a short , but my cards came out beautiful. You must cut the foil close to the die. The extra foil sometimes sticks to the cardstock. The machine does take up space but it is worth it. This machine is so much better than the other machine that needs the special black paper. I give this machine 5 stars.

I am obsessed with the Glimmer Hot Foil System! The look of foil on colored cardstock just never grows old. I cannot wait to hand make my Christmas cards this year with foil accents. It blows me away just how easy the system is. I need all the foil and hot foil plates!! Happy to report "hot" is really just rather warm, not burning temps!

How does this machine differ from the GoPress hot foil machine?

I will write a review this weekend which will include pros and cons for each machine. If you own the GoPress it will work very similar. I own that machine but had trouble. Then I watched videos on both these machines and decided to purchase the Spellbinders machine. Both work very similar. If you already own one or the other and do not want to spend more money, then keep what you have. Basics of machines are on/off, heat time, and cover plate. If I did not own a machine at all and saw them work, I would go with the Spellbinders. There are more involved differences which I will post in my review soon. Hope this helps for now.

I own this machine, and we can use other dies created for the same purpose. We can also use the back side of regular cut dies for a thicker/wider transferred design, can also use the front of a regular cut die to JUST GET THE CUT LINE AREA transferred with the foil. I spoke with SB with some questions I had a lot of spill over of the foil, I also wanted to know if Couture Creations foils would work. their reply to some of my questions:
I like some of these dies. Can I order the die and use it in my Big Shot? No foil, just use it as a regular die?

These are not dies per se. They are metal stamps. You can use these to emboss or ink up and stamp (running through the die cutting machine) but they will not cut. Only leave an impression. I have a video on my youtube channel showing this in detail. https://www.youtube.com/c/eastwickspaperandink

Unfortunately the reactive transfer foils used with the MINC do not work with this machine. I've had success using the heat foils from Spellbinders, Crafter's Companion, and We R.
Can you use Stampin' Up/Sizzix thin cuts in the Glimmer?

What is the difference between this machine and the Go, press and foil machine. I have seen tons more demo's with that machine, but liked the set up of this one ie. no guessing if the light that says it's ready is a true read. Can you use the cut and foil dies in this machine?

As far as I can see and I do not profess to be a professional, if you are using another machine (mine are the CutnBoss or the Evolution Advanced) to accommodate the width of the heating element you need to be able to set the depth of the material to be inserted to accommodate the embossing choice. if there is too much pressure the dies will cut through the material being foiled and it seems to be that a foil design created for a foil effect is rarely subject to the cutting of the die cut (thin lit) dies. Yes, you can use die thin cut type dies but you must be careful when passing the heating element stack through the press to accommodate your desired effect.

I just posted a response to another users question. I will post a review this weekend based on my experiences. But in short term, they are both similar as far as dies and foils you can use. It’s the basics of the machine itself that operate differently. If I had to choose which machine, I would go with Spellbinders. I have both and prefer theirs. I have dies from both, as well as foils from three different companies. All work interchangeabley.
