The grunge-inspired Bricked & Woodgrain Set of Texture Fades Embossing Folders are from the Alterations Collection by Tim Holtz for Sizzix. Each embosses with select areas of the image appearing perfectly distressed and faded. Folders are to be used with the BIGkick, Big Shot, and Texture Boutique machines (each sold separately). This set includes two large A2 folders (5 3/4" x 4 1/2" x 1/8”): 'Bricked' and 'Woodgrain'.
This was my first purchase of the Sizzex embossing folders. I was told they would work well in my Cuttlebug, and they do. I have found myself liking the Sizzix designs so much better then the Cuttlebug designs so I am very happy that they are compatable in the Cuttlebug. I love the brick wall and tree bark, they are so cute!

Recently I read an article in one of my paper craft magazines; a woman said she used a wood grain embossing folder on cardstock before she used a die to cut out leaves; and the wood grain embossing gave the leaves a real-life look; so I thought I would try it too.
These texture fades are amazing. Ran Chipboard, Bazzill cardstock, and even homemade paper through the Vagabond with these and the results were amazing. Even my husband was in awe of how deep the texture was on both sides!
Used in this project: 18th birthday invite
I am always pleased with Tim Holtz products and these folders are no exception. The brick folder is great, especially when inked then embossed. Love it!
Used in this project: Christmas window
I use this on my cuttlebug with no problems. My dad is a real handy man, so for cards and layouts including him, this would be a wonderful way to show his interests. I love the 'manly' effects that this gives.
I love, love the wood grain one. Haven't tried the brick one but know I will love it too. They are deeper than other folders and the card i made turned out great. Really wonderful for more "manly" cards.
These folders emboss really well. I do find the wood grain one "stretches" water colour paper, but does not with regular card stock. They work well together, as well as for different types of projects.
Used in this project: Thanks for looking after the dog
These are both perfect for making male cards. Not always easy to find a manly background unless you use patterned paper. I will get a lot of use out of both of them.
I love Tim Holtz and I have been admiring cards done with these folders, so I had to have them for myself!
Shipping was really fast!!
I haven't used these yet, but I'm sure I will like them. They were hard to find, i'm glad scrapbook.com had them.
