When I got this machine for the first time, it only took me less than 5 minutes to start cutting. The set up is easy and fast. It will cut from lightweight paper to textured heavy stock (I haven't tried vellum yet). There might be a problem with the paper not sticking to the mat but these tips will solve that problem: Apply a little bit of tape runner to the corners of the paper before sticking it to the mat. Once you stick the paper to the mat, make sure that you press your fingers firmly to adhere the paper. Lastly, after many cuts, there will be a build up of debris on the mat. Just use a lint roller and run it across the mat. Your mat will stick better and last longer. Also, when you buy this machine, it is a good idea to purchase the additional mats. This product has an excellent price and the design books are also less costly than other machines. Also, it will take the guess work out for you - you do not need to adjust the blade for different types of paper. Some cons are that it only cuts in three sizes with the largest size about 3 1/2 inches. The mats also gets worn fast and need replacement regularly. I might get a Cricut to cut larger sizes but this machine is still a keeper! Best of all, it is cute and pink and very compact!
the concept behind this product is wonderful, but the reality is, it doesn't work properly half the time. first of all, the cutting mats leave a great deal to be desired. After just a few cuts, the paper will come off inside the machine. Also, for some reason the blade doesn't always reset to the starting point, which causes the blade to go off the paper and the machine to say there was an error. Overall, if the kinks were worked out and there were more design books available, this would be an excellent product. Unfortunately that is currently not the case.

I was dissapointed w/ this machine. These are the problems I found: Most of my paper is thick/heavy weight. The paper wont stick to the pad, and the blade would not move properly through the paper, so it kept cutting through the same letter over and over. It did work ok through some thin paper I bought at michaels, but it is very slow. I only got one decent title made and the blade and sticky cutting pad already needs to be replaced. (the replacement parts are very pricey.) This machine is just sitting in a box in my closet, I might try to sell it on ebay, but the brand new ones are barely going for 60 bucks! Please dont waste your money. I am back to using my letter stamps and stencils and just cutting them out by hand. (or using my coluzzle, much cheaper)
When this cutting system showed up on my door step I was so excited to get started! I instantly feel in love with this little machine, it is very user friendly and cuts the shapes and letters with ease. Being able to cut the shapes and letters in three sizes was an added bonus. All I need to do now is get my hands on some new shape and letter books!
My hubby got me one for Christmas 2 years ago. I love being able to make different size shapes for a 3-D effect. my only complaint is that I cant find ANY supplies for it in the stores in my town. You can find everything here, but sometimes you need something now, not a week from now.
I really like this system. It's not as quick as my Cricut, but the books/cartridges are reasonably priced. I've had this product for about 2 weeks and I'm very happy with it.

I just got one of these and I have to say I've used it in almost every layout i've done since. The basic shapes are great. I was lucky enough to get 4 other books in my purchase including the celebrations and travel books and i love both! The only downside i've had so far is getting thicker cardstock to stick to the cutting mat, but I figured out a little piece of tape on the edges does the trick.
If you're interested in a cutting machine, without the investment of the larger ones this is a greaT beginner piece.
I really tried to give this little machine a chance but I've got to admit it's just not worth the money. I had many of the same problems that I had read about on other reviews: paper slips when cutting, mats don't stay sticky. I ended up returning the machine and buying a Cricut.

this is an okay product but needs to be perfected. it is very hard to cut heavy cardstock which in turn wears out the mats. the only way to decently cut heavy cardstock is to use a removeable double sided tape runner to make sure that the stock stays in place. it also wastes alot of paper. the only good thing about this product is the books. this product also seems to take much longer than the cricut to use.
