This product is not as easy to use as you may think. It takes practice to get it to work well enough to use it on any projects. You must practice the speed and pressure you apply when you are using it. It does not always start to print where it indicates that it should and sometimes it does not print very evenly. I find that the ink cartridge on mine needs to be cleaned on nearly every use for it to print clearly. This product is a wonderful idea, but I think it could still use some improvements.
Used in this project: thank you card
OK, I have the Design Runner. Yes, I like it but it's not one of those tools that you can use right out of the box. It takes a bit of getting used to and practice before you can use it straight onto a layout. You must practice the speed at which you move it across the paper and a ruler to keep it straight is helpful. However, with that said, it's really a lot of fun and versatile because you can print right onto your paper wherever you choose. I have found that the discs with art/words/sayings are better than the font ones. I rarely use the font discs I have because the letters have to be printed seperately and you can't string them together. I am hoping to get the tool that goes with the Design Runner that allows you to make your own discs, which will lend even greater versatility to this product. I would recommend the Design Runner to those who are willing to practice learning how to use it. I also think it would be perfect for card makers because of the amount of discs available with sayings.
I LOVE this product. It is a must have item I think. You can get the keypad and type in your own phrase, name ect. But you must get the accessorys to go with it. Or you cant run a straight line. They have several different disk so I am sure you would find one you will just love. They only have three inks though but I still just love this machine. You definitly have to have a scrap paper to run it along before you print it on your project to make sure you have the right size ect. Feel free to ask any q's if I didnt answer it for ya.
Okay, I am a fan of Xyron products. I progressed from the little "X" sticker maker to the 900. So, when the Design Runner made its debut, I jumped on the bandwagon.Mistake. As a classically trained pianist, I'm no stranger to practice. The Runner practice time exceeds the time I would devote to mastering Chopin.
