Instructions: To use these cutting pads with a steel rule die, place the die between the pads with paper face down over the part of the die design you would like to cut. If needed, use washi or masking tape to secure the paper in place to get perfect placement of your paper. Set the die and pad “sandwich” on the cutting path of the machine, and turn the crank to move it through.
To use these cutting pads with a thin metal die requires an accessory platform such as the Sizzix Magnetic Platform or the Sizzix Multipurpose Platform. To create your die cutting “sandwich”, begin by placing the platform on the bottom. On top of the platform, place the first cutting pad. Then place your paper right side up on top of the cutting pad. Place the thin metal die on top of the paper, with the cutting edge down (in contact with the paper). Finish the sandwich by placing the second cutting pad on top. Set the die and pad “sandwich” on the cutting path of the machine, and turn the crank to move it through.
For easy reference of how to assemble “sandwiches” with these cutting pads for other types of dies and Sizzix accessories, use the Sizzix Sandwich Booklet.
TIP: These polycarbonate plastic cutting pads often make loud creaking, cracking and snapping noises while being cranked through the die cutting machines that can sound alarming. Do not panic if your machine makes these noises while using these cutting pads! This is a normal part of machine operation and the cutting pads are designed to withstand these pressures.
How to extend the life of your cutting pads: Since these Sizzix cutting pads are double-sided, you can use both sides of them before replacing them. When they get worn on one side, just flip them over and use the fresh side!
If the pads show signs of warping, cut by setting your die into the depressed area of them. That will help ease pressure on the cutting pad. To help prevent your cutting pads from warping, make sure that you vary the location that you are cutting on your pads. Use the entire pad surface and spread your cutting around!

Sizzix cutting pads do the intended job. I like the new beveled edge that eases the pads under the rollers. On the other hand, these new pads seem to bend easier than the original pads. Is Sizzix using a different material? In any case, keep flipping the pads and moving dies around...the result will be less warping. I like the size of these pads better than the extended cutting pads..easier to move around.
The cutting pads for the Sizzix Big Shot are a necessary part of equipment to use the machine. The time between replacements really varies. It depends on how much die cutting I do. They usually last between 3 and 6 months, rarely they last a year. It is important to keep turning them, using both sides as they last a lot longer that way.
everything about this transaction was perfect. The price was excellent, very fast shipping and product arrived in perfect condition. I have purchased from scrapbook.com before and I will continue to use them. I am in the process of making my Christmas cards and have almost worn the pads out already
These cutting plates work great! I'm set now as I ordered this set of 2 plates and accidentally ordered 1 set,so now I have 3 sets! Sometimes I wish the people putting your order together and find you adding more of 1 of the same thing would question you as to do you really want 3 sets? Maybe that would bother some people, but I really wouldn't mind because I really don't need 3 sets of plates for Die cutting. Suppose I could send them back, but I don't want to pay for the shipping. My fault, but just saying! 🙄
I will double check My orders closely from now on!

So glad that Scrapbook.com had these. Mine was wearing out. This is such a great website to find things that work with the big shot since they are not longer with the stamp kit company that I receive each month. Very helpful customer service people who helped with my finding what I needed. Would and will recommend this web site to friends and family.
