Cataclysmia
As I peered upwards,
I saw a hole in the sky,
A circular hole.
The wrath for the world,
Was about to poor out of it,
The world was ending.
The domain of earth,
The extent of sentient life,
The sphere of all life.
Infested with dwarves,
Dragons, elves, and chimeras,
Fiends, imps, humans.
I have hours to live,
I have killed all these creatures,
Now we will all die.
Although I am great,
We are equals now, in death,
I can do nothing.
I could reminisce,
Or merely bemoan my fate,
But it will not change.
I could cause terror,
Reek havoc, and destruction,
Kill without purpose.
I stared up again,
The skies were turning to black,
What can I do now?
Then, I left my house,
It was time to show remorse,
For what I had done.
The atrocities,
That I committed needed,
To be forgiven.
I saw suffering,
I ran near and embraced it,
A child was dying.
I comforted her,
And told her not to afraid,
That life would go on.
As I left her side,
The clouds had become smoke,
Had I lied to her?
The clouds had become,
A canopy of blackness,
Blotting out the sun.
The circle of light,
Was all the light that was left,
Now a small pinprick,
Flames poured from the hole,
The fire scourged earth’s surface,
Killing everything.
The life I felt for,
Was not mine but was that girl’s,
What had she done wrong?
I had caused her suffering,
My past actions had killed her,
Caused her agony.
My life was complete,
She had been in pain forever,
Her life was over,
Flames were approaching,
I had fallen before death,
Now, I am lifeless.
Fire overcame me,
We were all dead and destroyed,
Incinerated.
